The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Marco: “I would have written to you, myself, if I could put down in words everything I want to say to you. A sea of ink would not be enough.” ”

Celia: “But you built me dreams instead.”

Javis got that little salt shaker bookmark for me and he has the pepper shaker! Protecting the Finn bookmark.

It has officially became my favourite book. If anybody or anything asks what is my favourite book, this is the one. I finished it yesterday and I felt sad but okay to have it end. I have already prepared myself that this book isn’t going to accompany me on bus rides anymore after I saw the little amount of pages I had left. I only read it when I am travelling because I get so hooked onto it that I can see that I will waste a whole day away and I didn’t want that. I didn’t want to finish it so quickly either.

It was so beautifully written by Erin Morgenstern. I can picture the black and white circus, the contortionist, the white flames, the giant clock, Celia’s dresses. After several chapters, there will be a page about one of the tents in the circus. She used “you” when describing the inside of those tents so you are experiencing it.

It’s about magic. These two magicians decided to challenge each other by pitting their students against each other. I think it’s the 8th round. One of them has a daughter who has magical abilities since she was born. She is able to affect her surroundings with her emoticons. She is able to fix things after they break and change anything into everything. The other magician got himself a boy from the orphanage and trained him to become an illusionist. He had to read many many books and attend many magic shows. They were bounded to each other when they are 6 years old. The venue of the challenge is this huge elaborate circus that depends on the works of the two. Then, they fell in love.

I love their love. I love the way their love is written. I love the both of them. I actually marked down every chapter about Marco and Celia.

Since the book is borrowed, I have ordered another physical copy, downloaded the audio book and the ebook. I just want it easily accessible so I can read it whenever I want. I’ve never tried an audio book so this shall be the first.

I read that a movie is on its way. I really hope the movie does the book justice although they never do. Cannot wait for the casting to start as well.

Thankful for Joel who introduced this book to me. It brought me into a magical place beyond anything I could have imagined. Took me about 3 weeks because he loaned it to me on New Year’s eve and I just started on Will Grayson, Will Grayson then.

If you love fantasy books, this is for you. It’s amazing.

“Do you remember all of your audiences?” Marco asks.
“Not all of them,” Celia says. “But I remember the people who look at me the way you do.”
“What way might that be?”
“As though they cannot decide if they are afraid of me or they want to kiss me.”
” I am not afraid of you,” Marco says.”

“I made a wish on this tree years ago,” Marco says.
“What did you wish for?” Bailey asks.
Marco leans forward and whispers in Bailey’s ear. “I wished for her.”

HIS LOVE FOR HER. I can’t. I just can’t
